This is gonna get wild.

After the madness that was last year’s EDC, Insomniac topped themselves with the lineup this year. Huge DJs from Trance, House, Electro, and everything in between are going to perform. In my 3+ years of going to these Concerts, this is the best lineup I’ve ever seen. Nuts, I tell ya’s! Nuts!

Personal highlights are: Deadmau5, Kaskade, BT, Moby, and Bart B more on Friday. MSTRKRFT, James Zabiela, Gareth Emery, Simon Patterson, and thanks to his awesome Lovefest Vegas set, Arman van Buuren. I was down on him for his Monster Massive ’09 Vocal Trance Orgy, but if he plays anything like he did at Rain it will be good times for sure, homes.

Friday is packed with House, Saturday more trance-y (On the Main Stage, at least). [If] You’re going both days, don’t overdo it Friday. Bring comfortable shoes, drink your water, and get something in your belly so you can do the back2back strongstyles. Parking is always a hassle. You can find street-parking all around the Coliseum if you go early enough/want to walk. Paid parking is around $10-20 each day. The lines have gotten progressively better, you shouldn’t expect to wait a long time to get in.

The Electric Daisy Carnival is coming up in a month and a half. The lineup is shaping up to be pretty darned nuts. So many top artists from House/Electro/Trance. Favorites include Deadmau5, Kaskade, Moby, Gareth Emery, Swedish House Mafia, and BT. But as it is still so very very very WHY CAN’T IT BE NEXT WEEKEND far away, here’s a top ten for the month of April. A recap of songs I’ve listened to in the past month, if you will. Price: $35-65 General Admission, $100-130 VIP. VIP includes open bar until 2am.

To start things off, please skip Paul van Dyk. He is boring, puts on the same mediocre set every two months when playing in Southern California, and has made the cheesiest track of 2009 with “Home.” The side stages have plenty of talent, go there.

Beyond Wonderland is the name of the Electronic Music Concert formerly know as How Sweet It Is. It is in the same venue as the previous two years, but with a change in layout to avoid the fustercluck that was HSII ’09. The mainstage will be on the racetrack, as it was used for Nocturnal ’09. The racetrack is huge, so overcrowding won’t prevent you from getting in. That’s not to say it won’t be crowded as hell, as all massives tend to be.

There are some major artists performing this year. In the mainstage, Sander van Doorn should not be missed. Ever. For anyone. He is straight cash, homie. Bart B More is awesome. Wippenberg is an up-n-comer with hits such as Chakalaka and Pong. Christopher Lawrence is always entertaining with psy-trance among other genres. Again, Paul van Dyk is on the main stage and probably will be closing. Go see another act. If I don’t hear “For An Angel” ever again, I will be happy. The main side stage has Tocadisco and Sander Kleinenberg, both real real good at getting you to get down. Groove Armada is legit, and I like Robbie Rivera as well.

Pendulum are a damned fine drum and bass group on the D&B stage. Warren G is appearing as an MC. That’s kinda nice. I’m not knowledgeable about the other stages, but if you like Dub-Step and D&B that’s where it would be.

Issues: Insomniac has done a darned good job with lines lately, so getting in shouldn’t be a problem. It will be crowded. There will be nasty people, both attitude and looks-wise. Ignore them and have a good time. There will be illegal activities going on. Whether or not you choose to participate in them, Be Safe please!

Water should be between $4-6, the same utter rip-off as normal. Alcoholic drinks will be worse, with beer I’m guessing from $8-10, with mixed drinks around the same. You can find street parking if you’re lucky [And feeling lucky. The neighborhood around NOS isn't the best]. If I remember, the venue parking was $20 for Nocturnal, and should be around the same for BW.

Together As one ’09-’10 was pretty amazing. Great music from Marcus Schössow, John Digweed, and an insanely great set by Markus Schulz. I was so sad to leave at the end, until I realized just how f-ing cold it was. It was awesome night to bring in the New Year, and I hope everyone had a good+safe time. Note: I leave out David Guetta because of my musical tastes. It was like a giant club outside with the music he was playing, which is good for some people, and less so for me.
